Nov 21, 2016 ![](https://bepoz.com.au/hubfs/Archive/Blog%20Assets/Imported_Blog_Media/plu-product-free.jpg) Bepoz offers you the world according to PLU free product management. If you’re a pub owner or have the onerous task of being the member of staff who has to create and manage product codes then you’re going to want to know what we’re talking about. Typically PLU’s are used to manage a venues inventory and create some of the greatest headaches. But what do they actually do? When a product is scanned the PLU item number provides the scanning source with the pricing information.  And every product in your venue has one from the kegs through to the discounted pots or pints you might sell for an hour a week during happy hour. Just think about how often you create a new product or introduce a new discount these all need PLU codes associated with them. Now there are two ways to create PLU’s.  Let’s talk about the tradition system still used by most POS providers.  Involving up to 10 steps in the process from finding available codes, calculating formulas to deduct quantities from the parent product, downloading new product to the till and then actually creating a slot on the till screen for each new product.  Just writing this out sounds confusing and time consuming. Now let’s show you in 3 easy steps how this is done with Bepoz POS software solution. 1. Enter menu item, quantity and price 2. Hit create 3. You are ready to sell [![get-the-picture](https://bepoz.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Archive/Blog%20Assets/Imported_Blog_Media/GET-THE-PICTURE-1.jpg?width=181&height=36&name=GET-THE-PICTURE-1.jpg)](https://bepoz.com.au/hubfs/bepoz-website/StepsToCreateNewProduct.pdf) A good POS system is meant to take the pressure off venue owners and managers, allowing them to use their time and energy on more important aspects of the business.
